In this short guide, I will be guiding you through 2 ways on how you can change your WordPress website tagline description.
For those of you that don’t know what a tagline description is for, a tagline description is there to let your website visitors know what your website is about.
Changing Your Tagline Description
- The first option is to change your tagline description is when you’re installing WordPress. This is done on the installation setup page under Site Settings. You will see the section Site Settings and within that section, you will see Site Name and Site Description. Site Description is where you can change the defaulted My WordPress Blog to something about your website.
As I have already mentioned you don’t have to have a tagline site description but to install WordPress you have to have something written in the Site Description section otherwise you won’t be able to install WordPress on your domain. You can delete the tagline site description once you’ve installed WordPress. I will show you how to do this in the second option.
2. The second option is once you have installed WordPress for your domain is to go to your settings in the WordPress admin panel. To access your WordPress admin panel you can type in your URL followed by wp-admin on the end ie www.google.com/wp-admin and then type in your username and password to log in.
Go to setting and then general. Once you are in general settings you will see Tagline, this is where you can change your site description or even delete it completely. Once you have either deleted or changed the site description make sure you scroll down the page and click on Save Changes.
You can now go to your home page and check to see if the change has taken effect.
